Cell biology is the study of macro and micro biomolecules, which is enclosed in a cell whither it may be animal or plant cells. It is also termed as CYTOLOGY. Cells were first discovered in 1665 by a British scientist, ROBERT HOOK.. Different types of techniques are used in the study of the cell. It is very useful in the field of genetics, genetic engineering and immunology. Cell I the smallest and structural unit of life. All living organisms on Earth are divided in pieces called cells. There are smaller pieces to cells that include proteins and organelles. There are also larger pieces called tissues and systems. Cells are small compartments that hold all of the biological equipment necessary to keep an organism alive and successful on Earth. There are many theories which define the structure of the cell but the most advance theory is FLUID MOSIC MODAL There are two types of cells are found EUKARYOTIC and PROKARYOTIC. Prokaryotic cells have a primitive type nucleus for e.g. bacteria and the Eukaryotic cells have a true nucleus. There are many types of cells. In biology class, you will usually work with plant-like cells and animal-like cells. We say animal-like because an animal type of cell could be anything from a tiny microorganism to a nerve cell in your brain. Plant cells are easier to identify because they have a protective structure called a cell wall made of cellulose. Plants have the wall; animals do not. Plants also have organelles like the chloroplast (the things that make them green) or large water-filled vacuoles. In the composition of a cell 92 elements takes participate. Of the 30 elements , carbon, hydrogen and oxygen make up about 93 % and nitrogen makes up about 3 % of cellula material by weight.
